How many gates do I need?

Count the points where the clock needs to start, split or stop. Most programs start with two gates.

One gate: Tests that start and finish at the same gate

Pro-agility (5-10-5), T-test, lane agility, 5-0-5 and laps.

Two gates: A separate start and finish

Dashes, flying sprints and RAST, plus everything a single gate can do.

Three gates: A sprint with one split

For example a 40-yard dash with a 10-yard split.

Four or more: Several splits, or two drills at once

For example 10, 20 and 40-yard splits. Each drill running at the same time needs its own phone or tablet.

Which system is right for you?

Silver is our newest, reflectorless system. Blue uses a laser and reflector at each gate and works with React modules.

*Bluetooth range from your phone or tablet to each laser; depends on your device. **Bluetooth to the starting laser, then an RF network between Silver lasers that daisy-chain for extended range. Silver lasers cannot run in the same drill as Blue or 2.0 lasers.

How it works

From setup to results in three steps

1. Set up

Stand the gates on their tripods where the clock should start, split and stop. Silver needs no reflectors.

2. Test

Pick the drill and the athlete in the Dashr app. The gates start and stop the clock, so there’s no stopwatch and no guesswork.

3. Share

Results save to each athlete’s profile on the Dashboard. Athletes see them in the Player Profile app, or live on a Dashr display.

FAQ

Timing questions, answered

Do I need a phone or tablet?

Yes. Dashr runs on an Android (9.0 or newer) or iOS (15.0 or newer) phone or tablet, which is not included. No data plan is needed, so any compatible device with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth works. If you run several drills at the same time, each drill needs its own device.

How many gates do I need?

One gate covers tests that start and finish at the same point, such as pro-agility, T-test and laps. Two gates add dashes and flying sprints. Three gates give you a sprint with one split, such as a 40 with a 10-yard split. See the gate guide.

Can I use Silver and Blue gates together?

Not in the same drill: Silver uses a different connection protocol from Blue and 2.0 lasers. If you own Blue or 2.0 lasers, the Silver Upgrade swaps them for a new Silver system.

Do the gates work outdoors?

Yes. Silver is unaffected by sunlight. Blue works indoors and outdoors; for outdoor use we suggest adding Heat Shields, which shade the laser from sun and rain.

What does the software cost?

Every kit includes the Dashr app and the online Dashboard, and your account starts with 10 free athlete profiles (roster spots). After that, add roster spots from $20 (they never expire), or connect athletes free through the Player Profile app. Athletes can unlock extra app features for $3 a month or $30 a year. Vertical jump testing with your lasers is an optional software unlock.

What’s in the box?

The Silver 2-gate kit includes 2 Silver laser modules, 2 mini tripods, 2 USB batteries and cables, a USB charging brick and an aluminum case (13 x 10 x 3.25 in). Each product page lists the exact contents for that kit.

What if it’s not the right fit?

You can return Dashr products within 31 days of delivery; a 15% restocking fee applies. Every Dashr product has a one-year limited warranty against equipment malfunctions. Read our policies.
