The Dashr App Is Getting a Major Upgrade

Performance testing should not end when the timer stops.

The Dashr ecosystem has always been built around making athlete testing faster, more accurate, and easier to manage. Our next major app update takes that a step further by bringing more of the tools coaches use in the Dashr Dashboard directly into the mobile experience.

The goal is simple: less time managing data and technology, more time working with athletes.

One Connected Platform for Performance Testing

The updated Dashr app is designed to become the central hub for testing your athletes.

From configuring your Dashr equipment to reviewing results, monitoring athlete development, running competitions, and sharing data, more of the workflow can now happen from one place.

Here are some of the most important features being introduced.

📊 Athlete Progress & Reports

Individual athlete data is becoming much easier to access and understand.

Coaches will be able to view athlete progress, review testing history, and generate individual athlete report cards that can be exported and shared.

Instead of simply knowing what an athlete ran today, you can start answering the more important question:

Is this athlete actually improving?

🏆 Public & Private Competitions

Competition is becoming a bigger part of the Dashr experience.

Coaches will be able to create competitions for their athletes, including private competitions for their own programs. Public leaderboards can make selected results visible directly from the app experience.

This creates another way to turn performance testing into something athletes actively engage with rather than something that happens a few times per year.

⭐ Save Your Favorite Drills

If you repeatedly test the same drills, you shouldn’t have to rebuild your setup every time.

The new Drill Favoriting System makes frequently used tests easier to access from both the home page and testing menu.

Combined with saved drill configurations and one-button reconnection, coaches can spend less time setting up equipment and more time testing.

⚡ Faster Device Setup

We’re continuing to simplify the connection between the Dashr hardware and software.

New functionality includes automatic device registration and improved reconnection of previously configured drills.

The objective is straightforward: open the app, connect your system, and start testing.

🎥 More Powerful Video Capture

Video and objective performance data become significantly more useful when they are connected.

Dashr is expanding camera support to allow coaches to capture additional perspectives during testing, including the ability to use an external camera positioned away from the device controlling the drill.

For example, during a 40-yard dash, one device could operate the test while another camera captures the athlete at the finish.

This gives coaches the ability to pair what happened, the laser time with how it happened, the video.

📱 Light Mode & Dark Mode

The updated interface supports both Light and Dark Mode, allowing coaches to use the interface that works best for their environment.

Whether you’re testing outside on a bright field or inside a training facility, the app can adapt to the setting.

📶 Better Performance With Spotty Networks

Testing doesn’t always happen somewhere with perfect Wi-Fi.

We’ve improved how the app handles unreliable network conditions, including better retry logic when connectivity drops and returns.

That’s especially important for combines, camps, outdoor testing days, and large facilities where network coverage can vary.

🖥️ More Control Over Dashr Displays

Programs using Dashr 360 Displays will gain additional customization options, including greater control over display colors.

This allows facilities, schools, teams, and events to better match the testing experience to their branding.

📄 Attach More Information to Results

We’re also working toward allowing additional information to live alongside performance results, including the ability to save images and PDFs to results.

The long-term goal is for an athlete’s Dashr profile to become more than a list of numbers. It can become a more complete record of their performance development.

👥 Improved Athlete & Roster Management

Roster management is becoming more integrated into the mobile experience, making it easier to manage athletes without constantly moving between different systems.

Athlete profiles, results, reports, competitions, and testing are increasingly becoming parts of one connected workflow.

And There’s More Coming

These features represent a larger shift in what the Dashr app is designed to do.

Dashr started by helping coaches capture accurate performance data.

Now we’re focused on making everything that happens after the test just as easy.

Test. Save. Analyze. Share. Repeat.

The new Dashr app is being built to connect that entire process from setting up your equipment and running a drill to tracking athlete development and sharing the results that matter.

Stay tuned as we break down these new features individually and show how coaches can use them to build a more efficient performance testing program.
