As of December of 2020, Android updated to include a speed calculation - note that you can click on the "Speed (MPH)" button to toggle units. We are working on the iOS update to match this and it is currently in testing. We do not have an exact release date, but it will be very soon.

Update to this thread - iOS was updated in March of 2021 to include speed calculations on the app.
